 BAPS Charities wants to thank you. Our appreciation goes to our sponsors, walkers, and volunteers for their help and contribution for the 13th annual BAPS Charities Walkathon on May 6th in Sugar Land, TX. With your support, not only did we help raise awareness of the American Diabetes Association but also changed lives with the Stafford MSD Education Foundation.
Linda Hennes is the president of the Stafford MDS Education Foundation. She said, last year with the help of our sponsors, they were able to help five students pursue their education further.
 With 110 sponsors, such as Piping Tech & Products, Forge USA, Clinical Pathology Labs, WedgeEnergy Services, SBD, 4th Dimension, Akshar/Shriji Properties, Bay Star Ambulance, Club 24 and several others, you have made a difference. A difference that could help change a life.
With over 800 walkers and 70 volunteers, the walk started with an opening ceremony at 9 AM. Walkers arrived as early as 7 AM to register, but preparations started at 5 AM. During the ceremony, Linda Hennes said, “<enter quote>.” Katie McCoy, manager of the ADA said, “<enter quote.>”
The annual walk also inspired community leaders to take an extra step and lead a healthier lifestyle. At Walk 2012, individuals such as Himesh Gandhi, Sonal Bhuchar, Linda Hennes, and John Ferro and many organizations showed their appreciation for the efforts of the participants.
 Children especially showed their dedication for Walk 2012. One child, Sonu Patel, 10, went door-to-door to help raise money and spread awareness of our causes this year. Not only did she manage her school work, but with her countless hours of knocking on doors, she raised $1000.
After the walk ended, children also enjoyed activities such as getting their faces painted, to hopping on the back of a Bay Star EMS ambulance.
Planning for Walk 2012 was underway in November 2011 leading up to the big day totaling up to 500 hours of dedication and determination to make Walk 2012 a successful event. Your presence also made a lasting impression.
